Trade Analysis: Too many films spoil the Box Office

August 31st, 2009 - 5:55 pm ICT by Sampurn Wire

Too many films spoil the Box Office Too many cooks spoil the broth. The saying goes well with current condition of box-office collections for this week. It was clearly predicted–none of the films releasing last Friday has a potential to shine out and thus, overshadow others to fill the pocket of the producers. Unfortunately, the predictions came true. With the result, each film got a share of 10 percent to 15 percent opening at the box-office. The divided attention brought a doomsday in the fate of all the films.
Nevertheless, there is a weekend ahead, which can work wonders. Alas again not every film has a chance to work. Quick Gun Murugun- the only film so far has got good reviews though Kisaan definitely has sprung up with a surprise. However, as far as the entertainment value is concerned, Quick Gun has the potential to divide the attention from giant Kaminey, which is still dominating the scene with Rs. 36.45 crore (nett) of business in two weeks. Life Partner too is making hay while sunshine with Rs.16 crore (nett).
