August 28, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):The Walt Disney Studio executives are certainly basking in the success of “Toy Story 3′. According to the studio, Toy Story is slated to cross the $1 Billion mark this Friday as it has added $80 million to its global tally of $920 million. The Studio is certainly having a great time this year as “Toy Story 3′ will be the second film to surge past the $1 billion mark in 2010, right after “Alice in Wonderland’.

The Walt Disney Studio executives must be popping champagne in their conference rooms, as they have become the first Studio to achieve this remarkable feat of having two $1 billion movies in one year. Disney first crossed the famed $1 billion mark in 2006 with “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’, which was one of the biggest movies of that year.

By crossing the $1 Billion mark, “Toy Story 3′ has become the first animated movie that got the magic numbers. The box office triumph of the animation film once again proved that creative storytelling is not a lost art.

“Toy Story 3′ has become the #1 movie in Japan for 5 consecutive weeks, which makes it nothing short of a box office legend. Let’s hope, Disney does not rest its laurels too long and starts churning out similar blockbusters soon.
