Aug 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Toy Story fans have one more reason to watch their favorite animation film once again as the latest installment, Toy Story 3 has become the highest grossing animated movie of all times. Disney has announced that Toy Story 3 has officially raked in an eye popping $920 million since its release in June, surpassing the previous record held by Shrek 2. The latest installment of the animated comedy has also become the fourth most successful animation venture from Disney.

Rich Ross, the chairman of Walt Disney Studios said that the people behind the success was the talented creative team behind Pixar and also gave credit to the marketing and distribution teams across the world. He added that the team at Pixar continued the rich storytelling and the character development that is synonymous with the Pixar releases.

The film has also surpassed a milestone domestically as well by crossing the $400 million. Toy Story 3 becomes the 11th film to surpass the figure. It also became the second most successful Disney venture after ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’ brought in $423 million in 2006. One of the box office experts said that the movie is so good that the focus has been more on the film and less on the box office. He added that this was a rare case. The film was promoted as a 3D animation movie but it was the story and the character development created by the team at Pixar that made the film a must watch all over the world.
