Therefore, it seems unlikely that a person afflicted with this ailment would ever take part in a top reality show! However, precisely that has happened recently. A young man who suffers from this syndrome enthralled the viewers of the popular reality show American Idol and his rendition left the judges mesmerized on Wednesday. James Durbin the American Idol contestant is a young man who has faced several hardships in life but has come out a winner. His life was very harsh as he had to bear with the loss of his father at the tender age of 9 years.

In his childhood he suffered from deprivation of sleep. He was given medication and later the doctors diagnosed him to be suffering from Asperger’s syndrome and Tourette syndrome. He has a family to take care of and the contestant said that singing is what gives him a high. The Idol judges were seriously impressed by his rendition of “You Shook Me” single. His vocal range can be compared to that of Adam Lambert said the judges after his awesome performance moved them. He also sang “Dream On” which was equally impressive.

James Durbin has a tendency to give vent to his emotions when he sings but that does not affect the quality of his singing. The San Francisco audition has bolstered his chances for this season of American Idol. Jennifer Lopez was full of praise for him after his performance. She said “You sing from where you need to sing from”.
