“Tosh.O”: The lighter side of the InternetJune 5th, 2009 - 5:00 pm ICT by GD
Come Thursday, 4th June, Comedy Central will be airing a brand new comedy show, “Tosh.O“. “Tosh.O” is a 10 episode series that will feature comedian Daniel Tosh as the host.
With the web now virtually ruling over the everyone’s lives and as well as minds, this brand new series will be focusing on some of the most popular aspects of the web like the various internet blogs and viral videos. So with the “Tosh.O” getting on air, those blogs, vlogs, pokes and tweets are surely going to get a piece of Daniel’s mind (the lighter side of it of course).
About the show, Lauren Corrao, president of original programming and development at Comedy Central says, “The Internet has become an essential and familiar part of our viewers’ lives and it is filled with humor, be it a blog, site or video, that calls out for comedic commentary.” Carrao further adds, “Daniel is the guy you want offering up opinions on everything around you - he’s biting, hilarious and so quick.”
“Finally, a television show that steals from the Internet, as opposed to the other way around,” Tosh himself opines about the show.
“Tosh.O” is produced by Tosh himself and Mike Gibbons and it will be a weekly series that will take on everything the Web has to offer through the comedian’s “sarcastic and biting point-of-view” on a week by week basis. The series will be featuring the viral videos of the week and will also be premiering the in-house original videos in which rather well known stars and comedians will be featuring.
