New York, Oct 15 (ANI): After 25 years, Paramount Pictures may decide to revive the 80’s cult action movie ‘Top Gun’ in a sequel.

Viacom’s Paramount Pictures is in talks with the film’s producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott to recreate the action magic in “Top Gun 2″.

And the original cast is alleged to take part in the project, New York Post reports.

‘Maverick’ Cruise will perform a much smaller role in the sequel, that of a flight instructor perhaps, according to a source.

The 27-year-old son of Oracle founder Larry Ellison, avid aviator David Ellison, is said to be a key source in the financing of the film, known to be influential in co-financing many of Paramount’s films — including “Mission: Impossible 4,” starring the 48-year-old Cruise.

But, Cruise denied being a part of “Top Gun 2,” at the premiere of his summer action flick in London, “Knight & Day.”

“No, sorry man,” Cruise said. (ANI)
