London, July 23 (ANI): Top Gear stars Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are hoping to recreate the famous Mini car-chase scene in The Italian Job by racing through a sewer in Belfast.

In the 1969 film, which starred Michael Caine, bank robber Charlie Croker and his gang make their getaway in three Mini-Coopers, tearing through the streets, buildings, rivers and drains of Turin with the police on their tail.

Now Clarkson, Hammond and May are planning to recreate the chase in massive sewers being installed in Belfast, reports The Telegraph.

The programme would help to promote the huge Belfast Sewers Project, which is due for completion next year.

The stars were approached by Northern Ireland Water. (ANI)
