The fifth season of American reality television series Top Chef takes place largely in New York City, New York, and episode premiered on November 12, 2008. On Wednesday, February 25, 2009 for the Top Chef: Bravo Season 5 Finale starts at 10 pm. The final 2 episodes will take place in New Orleans and will feature Emeril Lagasse as guest judge.

The permanent judges are Tom Colicchio who is the head judge, Gail Simmons, Toby Young and Padma Lakshmi, the show host.

At the 13 episode of New Orleans Finale, Part 1, the the chefs arrive at the Houmas House Plantation and Gardens at New Orleans. For their Quickfire Challenge, they have one hour to create a dish featuring one of New Orleans’s most celebrated ingredients: crawfish. The winner will join the four finalists in the Elimination Challenge, but will have to win that challenge to reach the final round. In addition, they will also receive a copy of Emeril’s new book, Emeril at the Grill. Where the winner was Jeff for preparing Crawfish with Beer and Andouille & Grits with Crispy Okra.

At the elimination challenge the winner was Carla for preparing Cranberry and Ginger Spritzer with Lime; Shrimp and Andouille Beignet with Creole Mustard Aioli; Oyster Stew with Bacon, Celery Root, Potato & Scallions where Jeff got eliminated.

Season Finale of Top Chef is currenrly taking place at Commander’s Palace in New Orleans. Who will win this season? Is it Carla Hall, Hosea Rosenberg, or Stefan Richter?
