May 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actress Valerie Bertinelli has confirmed that she is engaged to her boyfriend Tom Vitale after the latter proposed to her while they were away holidaying in Italy. The 50 year old actress has been married once before and says that she has never in her life been such good friends with any male companion before she came across Tom Vitale. Speaking to the media, Tom Vitale confirmed the news of their engagement revealing that earlier the couple was very scared of commitment, but the atmosphere in Italy was so romantic that it only helped them to get closer and very naturally coaxed him to pop up the question.

Valerie Bertinelli came out of her first marriage with Van Halen five years back. The couple had been together for a span of 25 years and the actress also has a son with her first husband. Tom Vitale, her present boyfriend is a businessman. Having celebrated her 50th birthday only last month, the actress probably has another celebration coming up very soon, that of her wedding to Tom Vitale whom she has been romancing for a couple of years now.

With the proposal already accepted while they were in Florence, the actress says that she will leave all the wedding plans in the hands of Tom Vitale. With her second wedding to take place soon, Valerie Bertinelli not only sounds excited but also looks great after she lost close to 40 pounds since she joined ‘Jenny Craig’, as a spokeswoman for the company back in the year 2007. However, the actress has always defended herself saying that Tom Vitale loves her thin or fat.
