Tom ‘T-Bone’ Wolk dies at 58

New York, Mar 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Musician Tom ‘T-Bone’ Wolk died on Saturday, from an heart attack. He was 58 years old. He played bass with Daryl Hall and John Oates for around 3 decades. He has also done recordings with the legends of music - Elvis Costello and Billy Joel. He was due to perform on Monday for the anniversary show of NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”, with Daryl Hall and John Oates, but he died 2 days prior to the anniversary show.

The New York inhabitant Wolk was responsible for playing the bass on Kurtis Blow’s legendary rap song ‘These Are the Breaks’. He was also the in-house bass player for the popular show ‘Saturday Night Live’ for 4 years, between 1986 and 1992. He has also performed and recorded with the musicians Carly Simon, Rosanne Cash, Bette Midler, Cyndi Lauper, Jewel and Shawn Colvin in his great career as a bass player.

“To say that I am shocked is the ultimate understatement,” Daryl Hall said in a statement. “T-Bone was my musical brother and losing him is like losing my right hand. It’s not if I will go on, but how. T-Bone was one of the most sensitive and good human beings that I have ever known. And, I can truly say that I loved him.”
