Mar 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The latest episode of the show called “Regis And Kelly,” hosted by Regis Philbin and his wife Kelly Ripa, turned out to be one of the most entertaining in the history of the show. The show featured a very distinguished guest, none other than Tom Hanks himself, making the episode all the more special, considering that Tom Hanks is not really known for attending talk shows. Needless to say, the episode had been one of the most watched in recent times. However, his presence was not the only thing that spiced up the show.

Besides his comic timing that he is so famous for, and his brilliant and at times acerbic wit that is a delight to watch, Tom Hanks also turned out to make an uncharacteristic mistake. Uncharacteristic, because the “Nothing In Common” star is not very famous for his slip ups on national television. In the show, he referred to one of the hosts of the show, Kelly Ripa, as Kathie Lee, mistaking her for Kathie Lee Gifford, who had formerly been one of the hosts of the show.

However, the mistake was soon corrected by Kelly Ripa herself, who took the goof up in good humor, and pointed out that she has been hosting the show for the past nine years or so. However, she did get back at the actor, in good nature of course, by pointing out that although he would be presenting the Oscars this time, he was not a winner the last year, which is something of a custom at the Academy Awards. The jab was taken by Tom Hanks sportingly, and he inquired if he got a nosebleed from the punch.
