New York, Aug 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) 50 year old actor Tom Cruise is on a house hunt in New York. Cruise has been said to be looking at secluded properties as he searches for a convenient house.

Cruise recently got divorced from his wife of 5 years Katie Holmes. It is said that Cruise is looking for a house in ‘The Big Apple’. This is so that he can be closer to his daughter Suri. Katie Holmes and Suri are currently living in New York and this is what prompted Cruise to want a home somewhere close so that he can also be close to their daughter. Holmes filed for divorce from Cruise in June and there divorce has recently been finalized.

The ‘Mission Impossible’ star has said that he wants a private and secluded property so that his six year old daughter can have the privacy that she needs when she is playing. A source close to Tom said that he wants a house which will keep the paparazzi away from his daughter because there seems to be a lot of them around lately.

After their divorce was settled, Holmes got custody of their daughter and Cruise was allowed to be visiting his daughter regularly. Cruise still has his home in Beverly Hills which he used to share with Katie. He now lives there with his two elder children. He is however determined to have a house in New York so that he can spend time with his youngest daughter Suri.
