“Today, I am answerable to my in-laws” - Eesha

August 28, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Eesha Koppikhar would be seen in ‘Hello Darling’ today which is about sexual harassment at workplace. However, closer home, last nine months have pretty much turned out to be a learning process for the much married Eesha. While she is enjoying a working life on the sets, at home she is happy keeping things in order so that she gives complete justice to her family life.
“It’s not a major shift in thought process though”, adds Eesha casually, “Earlier you are answerable to your parents, now you have to respect the sentiments of your in-laws. You are answerable to them for sure. Zindagi mein aisa hona chahiye ki joyi aapka ghar mein intezaar kare.”
“In fact I remember that during my earlier years of modelling and acting, my mom used to call me in night to enquire about me”, she recollects, “I used to get a little irritated and this when a close friend of mine told me that ‘Eesha, you are fortunate that someone is asking about you. Think about someone who doesn’t care about where you are. How would you feel in that case?’. I still remember her words and hence don’t mind the fact I am answerable to my mother-in-law.”
She also has a strong reasoning to state when it comes to getting married at a mature age of 30 or above.
“By the time you have turned 30, you already have had your basic foundation in life made. Crux of your personality of pretty much established as you have grown up and seen a lot. Your thoughts are rigid and firm so it becomes difficult to actually mould them into something different”, Eesha gets philosophical here, “When you are young, it is easier to understand someone since you are growing up. At this age, you do end up telling yuour partner that ‘Hey buddy, I am like this only so don’t change me’. You tend to become a little defensive. It’s okay though because there has to be little bit of disgreement for two individuals to grow.”
Still, Eesha states that has thoroughly enjoyed a period of marital bliss even as there have been a few instances of lovers tiff.
“Yeh sab chote-mote tiffs hi to mazedaar baatein hoti hai shaadi mein”, smiles Eesha when questioned if she has ever entered into any arguments with her hubby Timmy Narang, “You grow up with each other and are bound to have disagreements. In fact I strongly believe that when you agree with a person all the time, it means that one person is not thinking about the other person’s point of view at all.”
