The suit claims that the players including Nick Cassavetes and Gabe Kaplan among others were paid with money from a disgraced hedge fund manager.
According to the suit, all the defendants engaged in illegal poker games at several hotels in Hollywood with Bradley Ruderman. The suit claim that the defendants made several winnings at the ‘Texas Hold ‘em’ poker games. The suit is asking the court to order the defendants to return the money.
Ruderman has been jailed ten years for running a Ponzi scheme which resulted in huge losses to his victims. CNN reports that Ruderman duped about 22 victims out of a fortune of $44.3 million.
The suit stated that Maguire who famously plays “Spider-Man” won $311,200.
