Tina Turner plans to tour the US againMay 3rd, 2008 - 4:50 pm ICT by admin
London, May 03 (ANI): The Queen of Rock & Roll Tina Turner is all set to tour the US again - eight years after announcing her retirement.
Turner recently revealed to TV host Oprah Winfrey that the tour would kick off in October in Kansas City, with the tickets due to go on sale from 12 May.
The 68-year-old pop legend had made a farewell world tour in 2000 and it was supposed to have ended her career as a live performer, the BBC reported.
The veteran singer announced her retirement plans during the first concert of her world tour in Zurich, and at that time her spokesman had said she was bowing out because “she wants to go out at the top.”
Turner is known for her songs like Simply The Best and What’s Love Got To Do With It? and she had risen to prominence in the mid-1960s with her husband Ike, who died last year.
Their violent relationship, which featured in a film about her life, caused her to leave him in 1975.
Since then she achieved commercial success in both the UK and US. (ANI)
