Nov 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Comedian Tina fey was honored last night with the ‘Mark Twain Prize for American Humor’ at the Kennedy Center located in Washington. Not only is she the youngest person to ever receive the prize, among such names as Richard Pryor, Bob Newhart, Bill Cosby, Woody Allen, Eddie Murphy, and Carol Burnett, but she is also the first female head writer on ‘Saturday Night Live ‘ and a major player in the show ‘30 Rock’.
She is the third woman to ever receive the award, with Lily Tomlin and Whoopi Goldberg also joining Burnett.
Although Tina Fey is known for her stint as ‘Sarah Palin’ Seth Meyers did point out one major difference between the two spicy brunettes as she was being awarded last night. “Tina won something,” he states, pointedly. Fey insists, “I would be a liar and an idiot if I didn’t thank Sarah Palin for helping get me here tonight. My partial resemblance and her crazy voice are the two luckiest things that have ever happened to me.”
