Tina Fey to be honored with the ‘Mark Twain Prize for American Humor’

Washington, May 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tina Fey is all set to be honored with the ‘Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.’ The Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts would present her with the award. And according to reports, she would be the youngest person to win the award, as she is just 40 years old. Other celebrities who have won the award include Bill Cosby, Steve Martin, Lily Tomlin amongst others.

Tina Fey is very excited to win the top humor honor of the nation. She said that in a statement that, “I am truly thrilled to receive this honor. I assume Betty White was disqualified for steroid use.” Tina Fey is very well known for her perfect impersonation of Sarah Palin on the popular funny show ‘Saturday Night Live.’

Mark Krantz who is the executive producer of the Mark Twain prize said that, Tina Fey has been an inspiration for women, as comedy is generally a male bastion. He said that, “It’s that job as a head writer on a show that’s been a traditionally male-oriented show.” He also added that Tina Fey’s work “kind of broke the ceiling for many, many women in comedy, let alone that particular show.”
