May 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) This November 9th, Tina Fey is about to become history’s youngest winner of the top prize for humor in the United States of America, the much coveted “Mark Twain Prize For American Humor” from the Kennedy Center of Performing Arts. The announcement was made on Tuesday that the Center would be giving it’s yearly honor to Tina Fey, who has starred in ‘30 Rock’, ‘Saturday Night Live’. She is perhaps best known for her SNL portrayal of Sarah Palin, former governor of Alaska, former Republican Vice Presidential candidate, and pun of many jokes.

Winning the Mark Twain humor award places Tina Fey in the same category as such names as Bill Cosby, Steve Martin, Lily Tomlin, Whoopi Goldberg, George Carlin, and even Fey’s former SNL boss and the current executive producer of ‘30 Rock, Lorne Michaels. In the 13 year history of this prize, Fey is the third woman to win. In her statement on winning, she joked, “I am truly thrilled to receive this honor. I assume Betty White was disqualified for steroid use.”
