Tim Robbins’ mother dead
April 21st, 2011 - 3:15 am ICT by IANSLondon, April 21 (IANS) Actor Tim Robbins’ mother Mary Robbins has passed away, 12 days after his father died of prostate cancer.
Musician Mary Robbins, 78, died Sunday of a heart arrhythmia at her home in Esteban Cantu in Mexico, while Tim’s folk singer father Gilbert Lee Robbins lost his battle with prostate cancer April 5 at the age of 80, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
The couple had been married for 59 years.
“The Shawshank Redemption” star Robbins, who split from his partner of 23 years, Susan Sarandon, in 2009 said his mother “had a calm and cheerful demeanour, a sharp wit, a gentle spirit and a generous and loving heart”.
