Los Angeles, Jan 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Director Tim Burton is all set to recreate Disney’s Sleeping Beauty as a live-action picture. The acclaimed French author Charles Perrault had created the Sleeping Beauty fairytale. Earlier Tim Burton had made a new version of the classic ‘Alice in Wonderland’ which stars Johnny Depp. This brand-new version of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ will be released later in 2010.

Aintitcool.com revealed that the noted director Tim Burton has now his sights fixed on ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and he wants to make it a major motion picture. Disney also made Sleeping Beauty in its animated avatar in 1959. And this time around in Tim Burton’s version, the movie will focus on the villainous Maleficent who was responsible for luring the princess into a long sleep that lasted a century.

Tim also wants to incorporate some 3D effects into the movie as well. He said: “I like the 3-D aspect of it, I think it fits the material very well, and it doesn’t give me a headache like it used to. I think it’s good for anything. There are other uses than having spears stuck into your face - I think there are more visceral, emotional uses, especially if you use lots of textures.”
