Tilda Swinton in “We need to Talk about David”June 3rd, 2009 - 6:24 pm ICT by GD
Tilda Swinton is a part of the cast of the upcoming film “We need to Talk about Kevin”. The movie is going to be produced by “Michael Clayton” producer Jennifer Fox. “We need to talk about Kevin” will see the successful Tilda Swinton-Jennifer Fox pair once more after “Michael Clayton”.
The soon to be launched project of “We need to Talk about Kevin” is the screen adaptation of the popular novel by the same name by author Lionel Shriver. The story goes something like this. An educated New York based mother tries raising a son she did not want in the first place. The situation is worsened by the fact that the child proves to be increasingly difficult to deal with. The troubled son finally goes on a killing spree in his high school with a crossbow.
The film is by far the darkest of all Tilda Swinton movies. The Oscar winning actress has never shrunk from taking up dark and challenging characters. Her movie career resume boasts of some of the biggest names in the Hollywood film fraternity. She has worked with directors like Cameron Crowe, Spike Jonze, David Fincher and many other similarly talented and challenging directors.
Swinton was nominated in the category for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her acting in “Michael Clayton” in 2008. She went on to win the award. Her character portrayals have been wide and varied. From playing an angel in “Constantine” to the troubled alcoholic woman in “Julia”, her power packed performances have always earned her a place in the audience’s mind.
The film will be directed by Lynne Ramsey, of “Ratcatcher” fame.
