Thurman’s stalker remanded in custody
December 18th, 2010 - 1:49 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Dec 18 (IANS) A man convicted of stalking Uma Thurman in 2008 has been held without bail ahead of his court date in New York.Jack Jordan broke the terms of his restraining order in October when he attempted to contact the actress by making a series of calls, prompting Thurman to lodge an official complaint with police.
Jordan was charged with two counts of criminal contempt for allegedly violating the order of protection and was transferred to New York Thursday. He was also hit with more stalking charges, contactmusic.com reports.
He has been ordered to remain in custody at the tough Rikers Island prison until his next hearing Dec 22.
In 2008, Jordan was found guilty of fourth-degree stalking and one count of second-degree aggravated harassment after sending Thurman letters and threatening to kill himself outside her New York house in 2005.
Earlier, he was ordered to stay away from Thurman for five years.
