dead1Sep 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Discovery Channel’s popular reality series “Deadliest Catch” is making news after three of its captains reportedly pulled out of the show over litigation with the network. The reality series which showcases real life events of fishermen in vessels at the Bering Sea is one of the highly watched shows on Discovery Channel and the news of the three captains quitting the show together has indeed come as a huge surprise to all its regular viewers.

Captain Jonathan and Andy Hilstrand along with Sig Hansen made the announcement that they would no longer be associated with “Deadliest Catch” in a joint statement that was issued recently. In the statement, the fishermen reveal that owing to the present scenario in the network it would not be possible for them to continue being associated with the show while also noting that over the period of the about a year, they had been through a lot. At the same time, through the statement, the three captains also recalled their journey in the reality series describing it as a ‘fantastic ride’ while also offering their best wishes to all the fans of “Deadliest Catch” with whom they have had the opportunity to meet over the years.

Discovery Channel has filed a lawsuit against Jonathan and Andy Hilstrand alleging that they failed to fulfill the terms of a contract, according to which they had to complete their work in a spin-off project titled “Hillstranded.” However, the attorney of the fishermen has emphasized that the contract was an attempt to ‘extort’ the Hilstrands and it could have jeopardized their fishing business.
