Thousands register for Jackson’s London concerts
March 8th, 2009 - 5:17 pm ICT by IANSLondon, March 8 (DPA) Hundreds of thousands of Michael Jackson fans have registered for tickets before the start of official sales for the 10 concerts to be staged by the “King of Pop” in London.
Around 350,000 people were registered two days after Jackson announced the concert series in the British capital, promoters AEG Live said Saturday night.
On Thursday, the 50-year-old singer made an appearance before a crowd of around 20,000 people at the O2 Arena in southeast London to announce he would give 10 concerts there from July 8.
Tickets, costing between 50 and 75 pounds ($70-105), are due to go on sale on the internet.
