Sep 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Thousands of people gathered at Resurrection Life Church in Wyoming, Michigan to be a part of MaLinda Sapp’s funeral. The wife of veteran Gospel singer Marvin Sapp breathed her last on September 9 after she lost her battle with cancer. Her death news was announced in one of the programs of Praise Houston radio station. The funeral saw Jesse Jackson and several other prominent Gospel singers pay their tribute and final respects to MaLinda Sapp.

Marvin Sapp took the stage with Jonathan Dunn and sang his wife’s favorite song “Here I Am”. Jonathan Dunn said that Malinda Sapp used to call this as her song while she was in the death bed. Other veteran singers Lucinda Moore, Karen Clark Sheard and Israel Houghton also expressed their condolences through their songs. MaLinda Sapp and Marvin Sapp’s three children Marvin II, Mikaila, and Madisson read the “Footprints” for their mother and remembered her. The friends and family members of MaLinda Sapp also mourned for her death and shared their experiences with her.

Marvin Sapp after singing the sing the song remembered his wife by sharing some of the memories and experiences of his wife. He even narrated some of the incidents of his wife’s battle with cancer. Jesse Jackson expressed his condolence by saying that “this” is a test of their fate. He even added that “we are pained” in the transition but at the same time “we rejoice” in the destination of MaLinda Sapp. The media reported that many religious leaders from around the country attended the funeral. Other than that the funeral was attended by many pastors, representatives and gospel musicians who graced the occasion and expressed their condolence for the wife of the Gospel singer.
