mjOct.28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) “This Is It” premiered all over the world, spanning five continents. Without a doubt, the film was a huge success. Hours before the screening of the movie, fans were seen thronging outside the theaters, waiting for the film to start. The scene was the same everywhere, with his legions of fans dressed in clothes that brought back memories of songs of the king of pop.

There were millions of fans everywhere, waiting to see the film that was being hyped as the last performance by Michael Jackson. The film is essentially a documentary that chronicles Michael’s preparation for the final grand concert of his life. “This Is It” was an eerily appropriate name for the concert. In the film, we see the unedited, uncensored version of Jackson. He is present with all the flamboyance he has dazzled us with through the last twenty years, and that had accounted for much of his popularity in the eighties.

The film shows the legend preparing for the last concert that got canceled following his abrupt death on June 25. If the film was anything to go by, the concert was going to be of grand proportions. One scene in the film shows the singer practicing to enter the stage on a metal spider-like contraption. The film captures the star going through rigorous and taxing procedures in preparation for the event. The film creates the mood beautifully, by inserting a medley of songs that Jackson had, with his siblings, sung as a member of Jackson 5, when he was still a kid. The film covers about a hundred hours of rehearsal footage.
