1957 - Harish Patel (born May 27) is an Indian actor. Although mainly associated with the stage, he has also appeared in films and on television. He began performing at the age of seven, when he played both male and female parts in the Hindu epic Ramayana. In 1975, he joined the Indian National Theatre and did his first professional play Neela Kamra.

1961 - Hilla Sethna (born May 7) is an Indian actress. she has starred in various films - Vishkanya , Andhaa Kanoon, etc

1963 - Asha Sachdev (born May 27) is an Indain Film and TV actress.

1980 - Karan Nath (born May 27) is a Hindi film actor and son of Bollywood Producer Rakesh Nath. Rakesh Nath was the personal secretary of famous Hindi Film actress Madhuri Dixit.

2000 - Noted lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri died of a lung ailment in Mumbai . He was 78. He was suffering from lung fibrosis. The lyricist had penned scores of romantic numbers for Hindi films since the 1950’s.

2000 - Prasar Bharati on May 27 signed an agreement with the US-based World Space Corporation which would help AIR usher in the digital era by launching a digital radio service to the Middle-East and North-East Africa from August 1.
