1964 - Dharmesh Darshan (born May 16) is an Indian filmmaker, film director and writer who works in Bollywood.He made his directional debut with Lootere (1993), for which he also wrote the story. The film was produced by his brother Suneel Darshan, and was a hit at the box office. In 1996, he made his second film in a big way with Raja Hindustani, starring Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor.

1983 - Kulraj Kaur Randhawa (born May 16, 1983) is an Indian actress and model who gained popularity from the Zee TV serial, Kareena Kareena that aired from September 2004 to October 17, 2005. After the serial ended, she worked for a Punjabi film called Mannat with Jimmy Shergill.

1986 - V. Shantaram, 75, was chosen for the Dada Saheb Phalke award.

1994 - Phani Mujumdar, veteran film producer and director, passed away. -Sampurn Media
