London, March 30 (IANS) Popular singer Shakira says she underwent regular therapy sessions for nine years to overcome insecurities.
Shakira first sought help in 2001 because she was unhappy with her looks. She says it changed her life.
“It helped me so much with every aspect of my life, from body image to relationships,” contactmusic.com quoted her as saying.
“It’s incredibly liberating to spend an hour talking to someone and not caring about what you sound like. It’s about understanding myself. Sometimes I’ll speak to my therapist for an hour a day. It’s become part of my routine.”
