The US version of X Factor starts airing on FOX
September 22nd, 2011 - 7:24 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, Sept 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) USA’s X Factor show started airing on FOX last Wednesday. With the top prize of $5 million at stake, the stage is set and nothing should be unexpected. The event which was televised from a packed sports arena had the good, the bad and the weird.
The weird on the night by far was a Settle man who striped himself almost naked on stage. That act was accompanied by a performance which can at best be described as the worst on the night. Show judge Paula Abdul moved from her seat and when the cameras followed her to the bathroom, she said that the performance of the man made her sick.
There was controversy on the night when judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid clashed on the performance of 21-year-old Simone. After he gave his performance, Reid said it was a NO for him but Cowell praised the performance and got the other two judges to agree with him. Simone was given the ticket to the next stage.
The emotional moment was the performance of a 42-year-old single mother who said her former partner thinks she doesn’t have any music talent in her because of her age. She told the judges that she was on the show to prove to herself that she can do it. She was given the YES and emotionally moved to the next stage of the contest.
