the stormThe first half of the two part mini-series “The Storm” was aired on NBC networks this Sunday, July 26. The second part of the same is going to be aired next Sunday, August 2. The plot of the movie is very unique and it was therefore not much of a surprise that “The Storm” had aroused a lot of curiosity much before its airtime. It was aired under the category of Sunday night mini-series that NBC has come to categorize as “Survival Sunday.”

The television movie has actors James Van Der Beek, Teri Polo, John Larroquette, Luke Perry and Treats William (who plays the villain of this fare, Robert Terrell) cast in the lead. The movie has been written by David Abramowitz and Dennis A. Pratt and has Bradford May as the director.

This was a movie that had drawn attention for quite a few days day, chiefly due to its different storyline.

In the flick, Van Der Beek plays the character of a scientist who has made a very useful and benefiting discovery that would be a boon to mankind. However, his invention is made use of in very vile manner when corporate giants run in haste to seize the “formula” for their own monetary profit.
The outcome is a very predictable good versus bad fight but with the extra attachments of loads of abrupt twists and turns, as Van Der Beek is led on to safeguard his creation and mankind, in the larger context. For the sole reason of the plot of the movie centering on “The Storm”, it rains throughout the entire four hours that the series is beamed on screen.
