“The Sopranos” Star Denise Borino-Quinn Passes Away At 46

Denise Borino-QuinnOct 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Denise Borino-Quinn, the actress who played Ginny Sacramoni, the wife of mafia king Johnny Sacramoni in the famous television show “The Sopranos”, died on Wednesday, due to cancer. Her funeral mass was held on Saturday.

According Farmer Funeral Home, Denise Borino-Quinn died Wednesday at Morristown Memorial Hospital in New Jersey. The hospital authorities reported that she was suffering from liver cancer. Her character Ginny Sacramoni, was one of the most lovable characters in “The Sopranos”, as she played a weight challenged wife of the mafia. It was reported that Denise Borino-Quinn had no previous experiences about acting. She just went for the audition as she got to know about the 2000 open casting call for the show. She apparently had no intension to get into acting, and just came to lend morale support to a friend of hers, who also came for the audition, to get selected for the same role. At that time Denise Borino-Quinn was working as a legal secretary and a part time manicurist in Roseland, New Jersey. The casting directors were extremely impressed with her looks, that apparently coincided perfectly with the character of Ginny Sacramoni. She did not have the slightest clue that she would actually be selected, and when she got the call, she initially thought it to be a joke. Since then, there was no looking back for the 46-year-old actress, as she made the cut from 14,000 actresses, who came for the audition. She played this role for seven long years till 2007, until the show was went off air.

Denise Borino-Quinn is survived by her two younger brothers, Vincent Borino and Chris Borino. She was married to Late Luke Quinn, in 2005, who also had an unfortunate demise. The news of her death has come as a rude shock to her family members as well as her fans.
