Earnings are expected to be $24 million this weekend. The film is based on the life of the Facebook founder and how Facebook came into existence. The movie is well made and has managed to create an extensive amount of buzz in just two days of its release.

“The Social Network” progresses through a series of flashbacks and which show Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenburg) in his college days at Harvard who is dumped by his girlfriend and while fooling with his computer in a drunken state he creates a site which becomes very popular and crashes the university’s network. He is then approached by Winklevoss twins who have the proposal for creating a site “the Harvard Connection”, a social networking site. He takes the idea and creates Facebook with the financial backup of his friend and partner Eduardo Saverin. The duo though are not meant to stay together and Eduardo Saverin is cheated by his friend who controls the social networking site that makes him a millionaire.

The film is intensely gripping and interesting till the end and is being regarded by some as an entrepreneurial lesson.
