It’s not possible to easily forget the movie Anjali and the child who played the titular role. Shamilee, who played Anjali in the touching tale, did a few movies as a child artist and fewer supporting roles in Malayalam and Tamil in her teens and disappeared. She has now returned, ten years later to the big screen with a Telugu movie, Oye! co-starring Siddharth. She is excited and slightly nervous about returning to movies. As a child artiste, she never worried about her looks but that seems to be a major concern when she faces the camera nowadays, Shamilee informs.
Her character in Oye! is that of Sandhya, a conservative girl, who lives life on her own terms. In contrast to her character, a traditional girl, Shamilee loves wearing western outfits. She feels comfortable in jeans and t-shirts and can carry them well. She would like to be herself on screen. According to her, co-star Siddharth, was very supportive and would explain every scene to her on the sets.
Shamilee has a lot of dreams for the celluloid. But the one thing she wouldn’t like to do is act opposite Ajith. She thinks it would be an absurd idea and that even he would dislike it. He is like an elder brother to her and she’s like a baby to him. It will never happen.
