The remaking of Mappillai

Superstar Rajinikanth and Amala played the protagonists with the late actress Srividhya in the negative role. Srividhya played the loaded and haughty mother-in-law who wanted nothing more than to get rid of her son-in-law Rajinikanth, a smart working class guy. One of Rajinikanth’s most popular comedies, Mappillai is now set to return to the theatres. Insiders say that Dhanush and Hansika Motwani will play the lead roles but as for who is to play Srividhya’s part is yet to be revealed.
