The Real L Word Airs On Showtime

June 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The latest reality series to hit American TV screens follows the life of a group of lesbian women. ‘The Real L Word’ follows the life of six affluent homosexual women who journey through love, lust and parties in Los Angeles.
The show aired for the first time on Sunday, June 20 on Showtime. The producer of the show Ilene Chaiken said that they wanted to portray six women who they found interesting and complex and also had a lot to say. The first episode received mixed reviews with some calling the cast heavy and the drama slightly forced. The show however has generated a lot of interest amongst the Showtime audience.
The first episode started off with the cast describing their first sexual encounters with women. Whitney who is one of the cast members said that lust was easy for her but love was hard. The story of Whitney follows her promiscuous nature and the twist in her life with the arrival of Sara. Another important character is Mikey who is the girlfriend of the another cast member Raquel, a make-up artist.
There is also a couple, Jill and Nikki, who are madly in love with each other. Jill and Nikki are also shown to be engaged for a year. Another cast member is Tracy who is shown to be the cause of the fight between Whitney and Sara.
The episode ends with a montage that shows whats in store for the audience later in the season. The cast is seen in a lot of drama that involves wrestling with pudding, wedding rings and cheating.
