Rachael Ray Jan 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The first guest today on “The Rachael Ray Show,” Jo Frost, has earned the title “Supernanny,” which is the name of her show. She discussed with us how to stop temper tantrums in our kids, and also many ways to help prevent asthma attacks, so that they can go on play-dates, be in sports, and basically have a normal life. She offered different parents adive on different questions that they had, for instance, she helped a mother of five learn how to split her time, by being firm with each child when it was the other child’s turn, and encouraging the children who were not getting her immediate attention to play together. She also was able to stop a child from having a screaming fit by simple attention diverting tactics. She knelt down to his level and simply asked him what he needed. They had a discussion instead of a screaming match, and he will learn by example when he sees her stay calm and mature.

Rachael’s second guest, Melina Kanakaredes, is a star on “CSI:NY” Rachel said that everyone on the set spoke of how nice Melina is. Melina joked about the time that Rachel crashed the set of “CSI New York,” and wanted to be a dead body in the morgue drawer. Melina found that hilarious. This is Season 6 of CSI:NY, and Melina said that they have been together for so long they they are like family. Melina said that she does not let her kids watch her show, because it is simply not age appropriate. Melina is very excited because this summer she will be doing a movie,”Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief” which will appeal more to the “Harry Potter” audience, and her kids will finally get to watch her act.

Also, on “The Rachael Ray Show” today was Cheryl, a 31 year old who has decided to cook with Rachael everyday for a year. She came to this decision because she simply did not know how to cook, and she felt bad for her wonderful husband to be. She says she owes him a lot because he has stood by her through nursing school and she really wanted to be able to cook good meals for him, so this is a way she can do this, and learn to cook in the process. Her blog can be found here, http://cherandrach.blogspot.com/ and I have chosen to follow it, this could be very interesting!

For today’s “What’s For Dinner” Rachael cooked Chicken Divan and Egg Noodle Bake. The recipe for this yummy looking, simple dish can be found here…. Rachael gave Cheryl a frozen dish of it so that she could have the day off! I also wanted to mention that it has just came to my attention that my previous links were not posting, so you may have missed a few recipes. They are all available on Rachael’s website http://www.rachaelrayshow.com/food/ . I apologize for that “Ooops” moment!

The show was fun and interesting as always. The “Supernanny” had a lot of good insight on raising kids, and I will be looking for her show. Melina Kanakaredes seemed to be a sweet, funny mother of two, and I loved seeing that side of her. I also think it will be loads of fun to follow Cheryl’s blog for the year!

Thanks for reading!
