The Prodigy’s “Smack My Bitch Up” Voted The Most Controversial Song Of All Times

“Smack My Bitch Up” by the English electronic dance music group, The Prodigy, is from their album “The Fat of the Land”. This song made the band quite popular on the rock stations. But it was criticized by the National Organization for Women. The lyrics of this song is few but repetitive. But the National Organization for Women felt that it advocated violence against women.

It was ‘The Prodigy’, who along with a few other bands had popularized the big beat genre of music, which gained mainstream success in the 90s and 2000s. Currently, ‘The Prodigy’ members are Liam Howlett, Maxim, Leeroy Thornhill and Keith Flint.

“God Save The Queen” by Sex Pistol made it to the second spot, while “Relax” by Frankie Goes To Hollywood and “Kim” by Eminem takes the third and fourth spot on the list of the most controversial songs of all times.
