Ryan Carnes, whose previous stints include ‘Desperate Housewives’, ‘General Hospital’ and ‘Doctor Who’, played the role of the Phantom in the four hour movie. The revival of the legendary comic strip character was directed and envisioned by Daniel Knauf and his son Charles Knauf. The series generated good review from the Sunday audience of SyFy.

The 75 year old comic strip character of the Phantom has however been modified slightly to suit the modern audience. The costume and the weapons have become slightly more futuristic. The contemporary version has been directed by Paolo Barzman. Isabella Rossellini played the main villain Lithia and Cameron Goodman played the role of Kit Walker’s love interest.

The story of the Phantom as known by most fans of the comic book follows the life of Kit Walker who survives an attack where his mother is killed. 20 years later he is seen as a young law student who has been raised by loving adoptive parents.

He is then given the role of the Phantom, a family tradition that has gone on for centuries and pitted against him is the Singh Crime Syndicate. With an aim to stop the next Phantom ascension they plan to eliminate him and also start an international war. The character of Phantom was created by Lee Falk as a comic strip.

The costumed superhero relies on his wits, physical strength and weapons that are beyond superhuman powers.
