The first guest on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” was “Chen Luyu”, also known as, “The Chinese Oprah”. We were taken, via satellite, to her set, which was very similar to Oprah’s.  She says that she hopes that her show will be able to change jobs, a very huge responsibility, its not just a show. She explains that she was in the United States on a business trip, and knew immediately that this is what she wanted to do. She was just starting out, but in 2001, she told her network that she wanted to do her own show. It has become very huge in China. She said that she does go anywhere she wants, but she is very famous there because she has been in the people’s living rooms for many years. Oprah asked her if they have tabloids, and Chen tells of being chased by them. “It was very scary,” she added. She said she feels as Oprah does, that she has the best job in the world, to open people’s minds, and hear all kinda of stories. She said she is able to do her contribution to change something in the world. Watching them, it was almost as if two kindred souls had found each other and were making friends, while we were all just observers.

The next stars are known as “The Most Famous Stars in the World.” Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have 5 billion fans. They are stars in the new movie craze, Bollywood, based out of India. This is the first time they have ever sat down together for an interview. Oprah showed footage from outside their wedding, which in India is a very festive, 7 to 10 day event. The vows are spoken at the end of this long celebration. After Oprah asked about the fact that they have never been filmed in a passionate kiss, he explains that there is not much sex and such required in these films. He explains that when there is a scene that, in America, would require a sexual scene, that in India, they dance. A couple in a movie starts to fight, they stop and dance, whereas in America, we stop and have sex. Chen Luyu was still with the show, via satellite, and asked Aishwarya, and Abhishek when they were coming to China. They said that they would be honored. When Chen asked Oprah when she was coming as well, she answered,”I am coming with them.”

When a new set of Bollywood dancers came out to make their debut, they were happily surprised by the Aish and Ab walking out on stage with them. Needless to say, the dance sorta fell apart.

Polo Player, Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras, was the next guest star. He was born in Argentina, and has always loved horses and polo. He explains that when he is on a horse, that him and the horse are one. He was so passionate about it that the other guests commented that they could feel it. He grew up in a middle class family, and is married and has two kids and one on the way. He is often called the Brad Pitt of polo, and was named the face of Ralph Lauren’s Black Label in 2008.  After his interview, “Nacho” gave us a polo lesson. It involves hitting a ball with a mallot, similar to golf, while riding a horse, into a goal, similar to soccer. Not a sport I’ll likely be taking up anytime soon.
