Jan 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The first story that was told today on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” was the one of Jaycee Lee Dugard. I am sure you have heard of the little girl who was kidnapped on her way to school, and kept prisoner for 18 years. She had two daughters while she was in captivity, and her abductor is the father. Today on the show, the two women who helped to bring this case to a close, Officer Allison Jacobs, and police specialist Lisa Campbell, were the first two guests. They told how they became suspicious when Phillip Garrido was in their office, with the two young daughters, and it was very obvious something was very “not right” with these two kids. They decided to call his parole officer. They had to leave a message, and explained that Phillip had came in with his two daughters, and seemed to be on a schizophrenic rant. The parole officer called back the next morning and told police officer Allison Jacobs that Phillip did not have kids. John Walsh, the host of “America’s Most Wanted,” was a guest via satellite, and told these two women that they are real heroes.
Sharon Garecht, the mother of Michaela Garecht is hoping someone will help find her daughter as well…
On Nov 24, 1997, Sabrina Paige Aisenberg, 5 months old, was kidnapped from her home. Some began to suspect the parents, Steve and Marlene Aisenberg. They were on Oprah’s show in 1998, and even Oprah asked if they knew anything. The courts got permission to record everything they were saying in their home, and they were indicted, but were later cleared and released. John Walsh stated that he does not believe that they had anything at all to do with the kidnapping.

An NBC News Special Report broke into the middle of the show. “President Barack Obama” spoke about the attempted bombing on Christmas, and the failures that were in place to allow this to happen. He also told the different ways he expects to prevent this from happening again, and what new precautions will be in place. He is going to make a summary of his report public in a few days, and discussed this report, on what could have been a tragedy costing America over 300 lives. The U.S Government had sufficient information to make it clear that this suspect, “Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab”, was dangerous, and this suspect should have already been on a “No Fly List.” He said, “We have to do better, we will do better, and we must do it quickly”
