Los Angeles, Dec.03, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The nominations for the highly anticipated 52nd annual Grammy Awards were announced on Wednesday at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. The main Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on January 31, 2010 where this year’s winner would be declared in a star studded event.

The probable winners list was dominated by pop diva Beyonce Knowles, who topped the nominations list and was nominated in as many as ten categories. Following her was promising young artist Taylor Swift, who received around eight nominations. Swift, who has grabbed multiple honors in the other award ceremonies this year is expected to rule this year’s Grammy Awards. The young singer has received nominations in the Album of the Year category where she would be competing with musical icons such as Lady GaGa, Black Eyed Peas, and Dave Matthews Band.

The Black Eyed Peas were also not left behind as the group has been nominated in six categories. At the same time, much acclaimed rapper Kanye West received six Grammy recognition with most of them in the Best rap/sung collaboration category. Other artists, who received multiple nominations included Lady GaGa, who also received around five nominations for the songs of her immensely successful album ‘The Fame’.

Apart from these, some of the other nominations included Levon Helm, who received his second Grammy nominations for “Electric Dirt” in the Best Americana Album, Vocal or Instrumental category and artist Jimmy Sturr got nominated in the category of Best Traditional Folk Album. Meanwhile, a number of other artists were nominated in different categories and all of them are surely awaiting the main event eagerly, which would be held next year.
