The music emanating from the music academy and recording studio owned by the non other than the matriarch of soul sensation, Joss Stone, has been regarded as noise by the neighbors their complaints about the “noise” has forced to close down the music academy.
Wendy Joseph, the mother of Joss Stone said that the decision of closing down of the music academy and the recording studio, the “Mama Stone’s” was “devastating” to all those people who were concerned. The music academy that was set up in the year 2005 in order to provide encouragement and training to the budding musicians and as well as harness and give direction to their musical talents.
The academy recently had to go through a number of court proceedings with the Taunton Deane Borough Council over the issue regarding the use of the academy’s performance room that is located downstairs, on behalf of the neighbor’s complaint about the din.
After the court proceedings the council had refused the permission on planning for the recording studio that is located upstairs and which accounts to about 90% of the whole businesses income. Ms Joseph said that due to the complaints, and the order from the council the academy and the studio was unable to any work and hence the both the academy and the recording studio had to close down.
A spokesman for the council said, “The council has not forced Mama Stone’s – based in the middle of a row of terraced houses – to close. There have been long-standing problems regarding noise.”
