The Midnight Meat TrainJan 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The fans of horror movies with a fair amount of gore and violence, have a liking for the film “The Midnight Meat Train”. Released in 2008, the film was adapted from Clive Barker’s short story with the same name. Yesterday, the movie was shown in the SyFy Channel. It does not have anything supernatural in content but still sends chill waves down the spine of the viewers, with its heavy dosage of violence and horror. The film unfolds through the eyes of Leon, a photographer who comes to know about suspected abduction of people in midnight subway trains. His quest to find out the truth takes the viewers through a sordid tale of homicide and gruesome killing that can put a slaughter house to shame.

It is a suspense filled ride for the viewers, who witness the truth behind the ruthless murders of subway train passengers and the bloody aftermath. Japanese director Ryuhei Kitamura received lots of critical acclaim for this film and it has got a 70% rating on the Rotten Tomato site. Clearly, this film is not meant for those viewers who have a faint heart and cannot stand bloodshed. The film is far from mindless gore filled flicks and it has a solid plot that keeps the viewers guessing till the end.

The ending of the film however, has received flak from some of the viewers. Even after its recent airing, some of the viewers wrote in their blogs that the last minutes seemed to be a bit inconsistent compared to the rest of the movie.
