Several of those who have won their tickets to attend the Michael Jackson Memorial by the random lucky draw, have posted updates regarding their fortune, on their Twitter accounts. The memorial service of the superstar is going to be held at the Staples center in Los Angles, on July 7, Tuesday.
Sunday, July 5, was a day that all Michael Jackson fans waited with bated breath for the result of the lottery to be announced; hoping, praying that theirs be one of the names in the list of the winners.
The week since MJ’s death, his die-hard fans have done a lot of things like crying, grieving, remembering, violently reacting to the news: yesterday however, was a day of calm, of wait. By yesterday evening, the names of the 8,550 individuals of those who will receive two tickets to the memorial had been announced.
An excited Deka Motanya, a die-hard MJ fan had blogged with “I got tickets! Nick and I will be in L.A on Tuesday!” She said that the e-mail reading “Congratulations!” had arrived in her inbox at around 4:35 p.m. In addition, it gave out the details of the date of the service next to the picture of a dancing Michael Jackson. Initially Deka, a medical office assistant, and her boyfriend were a little hesitant about the information divulged in the email, thinking the mail to be a scam; after a while however, they got around to booking the tickets immediately. Deka further said that the e-mail provided a password and a link to the site where she had to officially register. ”
The fans who received the tickets, have been requested not to sell them out to others. That however has not been paid much heed to, as news of people selling their tickets flood the internet.
