New York, February 21 (ANI): A list of best winners in the Best Song category at the Academy Awards over the years has been compiled by a leading newspaper.

According to The New York Daily News, the best all-time Oscar winners in the selected category have been:

1) 1936 “The Way You Look Tonight” from “Swing Time”
2) 1939 “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from “The Wizard of Oz”
3) 1942 “White Christmas” from “Holiday Inn”
4) 1943 “You”ll Never Know” from “Hello, Frisco, Hello”
5) 1950 “Mona Lisa” from “Captain Carey U.S.A.”
6) 1956 “Secret Love” from “Calamity Jane”
7) 1958 “Gigi” from “Gigi”
8) 1961 “Moon River” from “Breakfast at Tiffany’’s”
9) 1965 “The Shadow of Your Smile” From “The Sandpiper”
10) 1969 “Raindrops Keep Fallin” On My Head” from “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”
11) 1971 “Theme from Shaft” from “Shaft” (which also doubled as the best performance ever on an Oscar-cast, featuring Isaac Hayes appearing shirtless - and in chains).
12) 1978 “Last Dance” from “Thank God It’’s Friday” (sung brilliantly by Donna Summer)
13) 1993 “Streets of Philadelphia” from “Philadelphia”
14) 2000 “Things Have Changed from “Wonder Boys” (written and sung by Bob Dylan).
