- Melbourne, May 3 (ANI): The Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe, who had caused a desert storm in the Middle East over her provocative ways, is having the last laugh.
The performance of the stunner, whos known for her sexy looks and revealing outfits, had caused a fury among the MPs in Bahrain and they had approved a motion urging the government to ban her show.
They objected on the grounds that the singers performance would be sexually provocative, violating Islamic conventions and Bahrain’s traditions.
With all but one of the Bahrain parliamentarians protesting, Wehbe’s show was allowed to go on - but with certain restrictions.
Wehbe did not comment directly on the bid to ban her, saying: “I am a performer and not a politician.
“I will leave politics for the politicians and let our president talk politics,” The Daily Telegraph quoted her, as telling Lebanon paper Ya Liban. (ANI)
