The King Khan aka the Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan will be in a traditional Malay outfit and will achieve his delayed Malaysian knighthood, said on Monday by the state’s top civil servant.
Mr. Khan will be in Malacca for only a day and will be presented on December 6, he will also be presenated with an award by the southern Malacces state who carried the title of ‘ Datuk ‘, equivalent to a British knighthood.
Shah Rukh Khaan was to receive this award on November 29 but the states official postponed the last week event.
After having the King of Bollywood, doing a film in the year 2001 in Malacca , the state has become a boositing tourist destination and the popularity rised up when the film One 2 Ka 4 was shot, at a popular resort in Malacca, the number of tourists coming from India has increased magnificently, state officials said.
Malaysia has become a popular location for Indian films, which have a huge following among ethnic Indians and the majority Muslim-Malays.
Mr Omar, who is the state Secretary said Shah Rukh would be in Malacca for only a day and the Bollywood star would visit various heritage and tourism sites such as the Eye on Malaysia as well as the heritage districts of Jonker Walk and Kampung Morten.
Mr Omar included by saying Shah Rukh would receive the honour dressed in a traditional Malay outfit with a black wraparound cloth as well as a Songkok, a hat usually worn by Malay Muslims but also worn by non-Muslims at state functions.
About 1,000 invitees will witness the ceremony.
