January 11th, 2011 - 6:50 pm ICT by Sampurn Wire
has been voted the greatest British film of all time. Now that is some respect! Isn’t it?The popularity of the film has tempted others to come up with parodies and allusions in other films and productions but the classic movie still remains in everyone’s list of favorites.
The film has already been remade in Hollywood, by director F. Gary Gray in 2003 and rumors are that a Bollywood remake of this move is being highly anticipated as well. Monty Python’s Life Of Brian was voted the second best movie but The Italian Job blew away all competition by getting more than double the votes than that of the
second position holder.
When it came to the greatest British Actor of all time, Welsh actor of film, stage and television, Sir Philip Anthony Hopkins got the top spot, followed by actor, director, and producer Laurence Kerr Olivier. Among the ladies, film, stage and television actress Dame Judith Olivia “Judi” Dench took away the top position by a mammoth 25
percent of the vote and Academy Award winner Dame Helen Mirren became the runners up. The poll was conducted by Sky Movies HD.
The master of suspense and psychological thriller, Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock was honored with the top spot.
