September 21, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Although Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome are used by a large number of web users, Internet Explorer is still the mainstream Web browser for the rest of the world. Internet Explorer has been left far behind in the Browser wars and for a while it seemed that the new age belonged to Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera. However, Microsoft has decided to strike back a blow into the heart of all the other browsers by making IE9 a beast. Yes you heard it right, if we are to go by the features of IE9 Beta that was released a few days back, IE9 is going to be a monster. It might even manage to woo Chrome users back into the manifold of Microsoft’s inbuilt web browser.

The new IE9 Beta has hardware acceleration that uses the processing power of your GPU. That means now the graphic intensive websites will be able to use your heavy duty graphics card’s power to render a super smooth web interface.

Another cool feature is that you can pin your favorite sites like apps on the task bar of Windows 7 computers. So now you can simply click on that Facebook icon and voila! You will be directed to your own Facebook page. The New download manager has gone through a facelift and it is less annoying and obtrusive than ever before.

It might be a while before the actual IE9 arrives but from the looks of it this new browser will redefine the way we surf the web.
